Where do Spaniards emigrate? The Spanish emigration is primarily directed to the EU. Contrary to the general impression, Germany (19,462) is not  the preferred destination, but rather UK, where 30,779 Spaniards emigrated in this period according to the INE (and as many as 112,980 according to U.K. officials, although many may have returned). France is the country that 24,770 Spaniards have chosen, the second in the list followed by the USA (22,030), well ahead of Germany.
